[You know what Mayfield has been missing out on?

CHAINSWORDS

These machines you may know as 'sounder pounder tree cutterdowners' are somehow swords and your two favorite Warhammer 40k heroes are dueling with them.

None of the smoke associated with chainsaws is to be seen but the sound and the whirring of the blades can't be missed. Not to mention the sparks caused by the clash of blades.

Yes, they're clashing.

Standing a good foot and a half shorter than Garviel, Cain is somehow managing to not get a chainsword blade stuck in his head. He can't fight the Space Marine strength on strength but his ability to deflect the blade must either be instinct or awesome skill. Either way, they still pause every so often because fighting a frakking Astartes is like hitting your head on a brick wall.

Feel free to gawk, think they're insane, or that their weapons can't be wieldy due to physics but they still handle them like they're Jedi Masters.

At the park, of course.

Garviel and Cain will be tagging the threads separately and threadjacking between the two may happen.]

I think they're horrifying and I hope I'm never on a planet that needs one for defense.

If there's a Titan around, the enemy is doing a full scale invasion with probably a billion or so soldiers.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. [Ken is trying to think about it that way.] Ok, well, I guess that's a valid reason to not like them.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
I've been on the wrong end of an Ork Titan before. Thankfully, it got a bit messed up by another enemy before reaching our lines.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
So what do Titans look like anyways? Do they walk? Roll?

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
They all walk but they look different depending on who made them.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
I guess that makes sense. I'm glad we don't really have to worry about billion person invasions here.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
You say that now but if orks start pouring out of that post office...

...you know what, I better tell you the secret to beating them.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
...SHH! Don't give them ideas!

And spill!

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
They're these big, green creatures that are strong but dumb. So if you keep your head on straight, they're easy to beat one on one. But they have this psyker field thing going on that makes them stronger depending on how many more are nearby. If you catch them group together, try to separate them.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
So, they kinda live the 'together they stand, divided they fall' kinda thing?

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
That's giving to much credit. I'm being pretty literally when I say they get smarter and stronger when bunched up. Weirdest damned thing.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Wow...That sounds like the reverse of those mobs of girls we had back at the shop.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
That's generally how girls are.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Hah, guys too. The bigger the group, the stupider they get, but the more power they can wield.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
That's why they make lasguns practically unbreakable.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
...lasguns? Like Laser guns? [He's trying to figure out the naming scheme here.]

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Well I guess if you're given them to big buff dudes, 'specially like Garvi, you'd want the weapons to be pretty hardy.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Guys like Garviel carry bolters. Lasguns are way too small for them.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Well, fair enough, even though that's kinda disappointing. Why not make 'em lascanons?

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Lascanons are the kind of weapon that takes two people to set up and use. They're a better defensive weapon than a offensive one.

[identity profile] weiss-tank.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Shit, I was just being dumb, you mean they actually exist and are called that?
