CHAINSWORDS

These machines you may know as 'sounder pounder tree cutterdowners' are somehow swords and your two favorite Warhammer 40k heroes are dueling with them.

None of the smoke associated with chainsaws is to be seen but the sound and the whirring of the blades can't be missed. Not to mention the sparks caused by the clash of blades.

Yes, they're clashing.

Standing a good foot and a half shorter than Garviel, Cain is somehow managing to not get a chainsword blade stuck in his head. He can't fight the Space Marine strength on strength but his ability to deflect the blade must either be instinct or awesome skill. Either way, they still pause every so often because fighting a frakking Astartes is like hitting your head on a brick wall.

Feel free to gawk, think they're insane, or that their weapons can't be wieldy due to physics but they still handle them like they're Jedi Masters.

At the park, of course.

Garviel and Cain will be tagging the threads separately and threadjacking between the two may happen.]

[There is a brief laugh from behind Garviel's helm, and he says]

I was teasing you, Ciel. A rare thing from me, I suppose, but it happens, from time to time.

The inhuman may arguably make better soldiers, but they make better monsters as well. And that was Horus' point, in the end. To isolate the Astartes, to take away any commonality with humanity, to make us easier to corrupt and turn against the Emperor when the time came.

[He sighs.] The sad truth is that it worked with about two thirds of the Legions accompanying him. The other third was sacrificed as Istvaan III, which is where I met my fate.

That's not in very good taste, still! It sounded like you were trying to imply something that's not true. [>:V

But despite looking offended she moves on just as easily and quickly.]

If that's his goal, it's still undeniable that he accomplished it well. [Just a small and quiet nod.] But that's going off-topic now, isn't it? It would be rude of me to stall you both more than I've already done.

Forgive me. I am very poor at crafting jokes. [he nods, some regret filtering into his voice. Truly worried about having offended someone he cares for a great deal.]

Of course. I shall see you soon, no doubt.

[He doesn't quite leave yet, though.] Perhaps now that I have my blade back... we could cross swords once more. Not right now, mind, but being forced to my limit was helpful.

[He squares up to Cain, looking ready to leave, just waiting for her response on that.]

[Well she really did recover under an eyeblink, and doesn't touch upon it anymore than that.

She eyes that sword.

Hm, so she may have to actually bother reinforcing her limbs next time, maybe? ...Well it's just a chainsword. One additional melee weapon in his arsenal still doesn't warrant her revising too much the strategy that she employed last time. He wanted a good fight, so she'll gauge herself adequately to deliver just that.]

Maybe, we'll see. Well then, I should get back too; Tomoe-san and Matou-san are waiting. Good luck! [That said, she'll be leaving too.]
