CHAINSWORDS

These machines you may know as 'sounder pounder tree cutterdowners' are somehow swords and your two favorite Warhammer 40k heroes are dueling with them.

None of the smoke associated with chainsaws is to be seen but the sound and the whirring of the blades can't be missed. Not to mention the sparks caused by the clash of blades.

Yes, they're clashing.

Standing a good foot and a half shorter than Garviel, Cain is somehow managing to not get a chainsword blade stuck in his head. He can't fight the Space Marine strength on strength but his ability to deflect the blade must either be instinct or awesome skill. Either way, they still pause every so often because fighting a frakking Astartes is like hitting your head on a brick wall.

Feel free to gawk, think they're insane, or that their weapons can't be wieldy due to physics but they still handle them like they're Jedi Masters.

At the park, of course.

Garviel and Cain will be tagging the threads separately and threadjacking between the two may happen.]

Let me tell you something about the supernatural. Using that warp-forsaken crap only calls on the Dark Gods. I don't want to hear anything about superstitions and frak like that. I've seen and killed daemons with my own eyes and hands. You may think it's safe now but you've just got lucky. One day, Khorne or Slaneesh is going to spot it and be all over it. I don't want to be any part of that frak.

You're not the only one, Commissar, so please don't underestimate everyone and label everything under the same thing just because that's what you're used to! Especially in this town, you'll find supernatural beings and people with powers all over, but there are different sources and reasons to why they can do the things they do. A human capable of performing thaumaturgy or sacraments isn't any less of a human simply because they have these abilities. It's good to be careful, but that sort of paranoia is just overdoing it. I won't pretend to know who these names you said are, but you'll just end up making more enemies, if you dismiss everyone here simply because you can't accept the idea that they can use their abilities properly for a good cause.

I'd rather have them as enemies than friends. That way, they can't stab me in the back.

[AKA, he didn't understand half of the shit she said.]

[SIGH

slumps shoulders a bit before giving a small shrug.]

You would have a lot of enemies, including imaginary ones, in that case. A normal human isn't very much of a threat to many here, so unless you anger a person with powers, I don't think that anyone would really care. But you fight with superior equipment and technology, right? So that means that until the town starts to give you more things back, please consider keeping a low profile. Otherwise, you'll just get in the way of people with supernatural abilities, and that may accidentally get you killed.

I've fought against tyranids, daemons, traitor legions, necrons, eldar, and orks. I think I can handle myself.

Improvisation is a good skill to have, but getting overconfident because of your experience could really end badly for you. Well, I won't lecture you, mister Cain, but please at least be aware. That chainsword is impressive, but it'll limit your options if you're disarmed. Hmmm... I'm not sure how much that would tell you, but if he is the only other person from your world, it could give you an idea. Garviel as he is now has gotten into serious duels in this town before, and he could have easily lost if the spar wasn't stopped because it was a friendly one. That's just an example, but yes, do keep in mind that Mayfield is an unpredictable place, so everyone in it could have unpredictable abilities.
