CHAINSWORDS

These machines you may know as 'sounder pounder tree cutterdowners' are somehow swords and your two favorite Warhammer 40k heroes are dueling with them.

None of the smoke associated with chainsaws is to be seen but the sound and the whirring of the blades can't be missed. Not to mention the sparks caused by the clash of blades.

Yes, they're clashing.

Standing a good foot and a half shorter than Garviel, Cain is somehow managing to not get a chainsword blade stuck in his head. He can't fight the Space Marine strength on strength but his ability to deflect the blade must either be instinct or awesome skill. Either way, they still pause every so often because fighting a frakking Astartes is like hitting your head on a brick wall.

Feel free to gawk, think they're insane, or that their weapons can't be wieldy due to physics but they still handle them like they're Jedi Masters.

At the park, of course.

Garviel and Cain will be tagging the threads separately and threadjacking between the two may happen.]

A term for someone from the Soviet Union, a communist government that encompassed a great deal of eastern Europe and the Middle East during the time I'm from.

I'll take that as a no, then. Might I inquire where you're from?

[He has a hunch, but he'd like to get as much information as he can manage before Garviel becomes alerted to his presence.]

I'm a Commissar for the Imperium. The Empire of Man.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
...The Empire of Man?

[His eyes flash a bit at how specific that is. Specify what you mean by that.]

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, the Empire of Man. It covers the large part of the known galaxy. Before you ask who else is out there, just know that there's quite a few.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not surprised. They've always been there. Perhaps not in the same forms you know them by, but they've always stuck to an existence hiding in shadows.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
...well, the Eldar and the Necrons have always been there just like they are now.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know what Eldar are, but I can hazard a guess at what "Necrons" are, though we have different names for them.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Pointy eared and limp wristed. That's an Eldar.

And frak, if you've seen a Necron...I thought I was one of the only people who has seen one and lived.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know if they're exactly the same, I'm merely guessing due to the name. I knew a creature like it that could easily level a battlefield if it felt like it. Although, despite all its power, it's true nature was rather obvious.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
These things have glowing green eyes and their weapons melt the skin and flesh off your bones.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
Mmm. No. I was mistaken then.

Though still comparable to the creature I spoke of.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
It's not like I want to see the thing you described either.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
No one has to worry about seeing what I described, anymore.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Then I'll be more than happy to forget all about it.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
You might as well.

Such creatures are utterly unworthy of being remembered.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
I would agree with that any day. "Suffer not the alien, the mutant, the heretic" and all that.

[identity profile] sturmbahnfurher.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
My friend, that is a creed I can support with my utmost being.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Welcome to the Imperium.
