[You know what Mayfield has been missing out on?

CHAINSWORDS

These machines you may know as 'sounder pounder tree cutterdowners' are somehow swords and your two favorite Warhammer 40k heroes are dueling with them.

None of the smoke associated with chainsaws is to be seen but the sound and the whirring of the blades can't be missed. Not to mention the sparks caused by the clash of blades.

Yes, they're clashing.

Standing a good foot and a half shorter than Garviel, Cain is somehow managing to not get a chainsword blade stuck in his head. He can't fight the Space Marine strength on strength but his ability to deflect the blade must either be instinct or awesome skill. Either way, they still pause every so often because fighting a frakking Astartes is like hitting your head on a brick wall.

Feel free to gawk, think they're insane, or that their weapons can't be wieldy due to physics but they still handle them like they're Jedi Masters.

At the park, of course.

Garviel and Cain will be tagging the threads separately and threadjacking between the two may happen.]

I'm getting that feeling that most people have never seen one of these.

Nah man, it' just that yours just happens to be the biggest.

Seriously, where did you get that thing.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
It comes standard issue for Commissars and Imperial Guard officers.

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Of what?

Like, the Navy?

The space Navy?

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
That's the Imperial Navy. For the Empire of Man.

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Cool, cool.

You from the future or something?

Do we have flying cars?

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Let's put it like this. The year here is 1959. I'm from after the year 41,000.

And our cars still use wheels.

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
... I'm guessing things aren't so peachy where you're from.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
We're at war with the rest of the galaxy; xenos, heretics, and the like. Not exactly a good time, no.

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
[Mart grits his teeth, trying to hide his inhuman shark demi-god teeth. Already knowing the bad rap his witch/mom got and his own origins.]

Really?

You don't say...

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's self defense anyway. Tyranids want to eat everyone, Necrons want to kill all life, Eldar hate humans, Chaos wants to turn everyone into demon worshipers, and the Orks just want to fight. The Tau aren't so bad though, even if they do have blue skin.

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Wow.

The future sure sounds like it sucks.

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
If you're a Commissar, it has its perks. If you're part of the Imperial Guard...well, sorry about your luck. I read a report once that Guardsmen have a life expectancy of about fifteen hours once a fight starts.

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
I sincerely hope the future yours from is not ours.

Is the Earth still around or did it get blownup among the crappiness?

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Terra is where the corpse of the God-Emperor still sits. Somewhere on his golden throne. In short, yes, it's still the center of the government.

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ahuh...

So, uh, did anything have to do with a particularly big... sea monster or something?

[His dad, Leviathan, primal arch-god of the ocean who's supposed to die and get eaten at the end of the world.]

[identity profile] jaws5sonofjaws.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

Okay then.

Still, I guess this place must seem like an improvement compared to where you're from, eh?

[identity profile] hideandhero.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's like a vacation. I'm loving it and that's not sarcasm.
